DAVID EVERETT is an Austin, Texas sculptor and draftsman whose best known works are drawings, wood block prints and wood carvings of nature's rich variety and form. He became familiar with wildlife at an early age, growing up in East Texas and spending much of his time in a remote part of Galveston Bay. He remembers these times as "living in a wildlife refuge" whose color, pattern and form became an inspiration for his art. Everett's signature works are beautifully crafted totems of animals stacked on top of each other with heads that faultlessly turn. The artist oftentimes incorporates highly stylized human figures into his work. Everett received his B.F.A. and M.F.A. from the University of Texas at Austin.
