LLOYD BROWN was born in Kingston, Ontario, Canada and was educated in painting at the University of Nevada, Reno and Southampton College, Southampton, NY. For decades he has been creating three-dimensional dioramas of places where he has lived including Texas, Utah, Nevada, Arizona, Colorado and New Mexico.
Brown also creates three-dimensional imitations of nature including leaves from different species of trees. His materials are acrylic and pastel on paper as well as bits of cut or torn paper and strands of fabric used to emphasize trees, buildings, cars, highways and blue horizons. The resulting scenes are filled with real and imagined space.
