Adair Margo exhibition of work by John Sherrill Houser and Ethan Taliesin Houser coincides with the unveiling of “The Equestrian”
John Sherrill Houser and Ethan Taliesin Houser celebrated the unveiling of their sculptural masterpiece, The Equestrian. This sculpture breaks records as the largest equestrian bronze in the world. The monument was unveiled at its location at the El Paso International Airport on Saturday, April 21, 2007. The Equestrian is the second monument in a series by the XII Travelers organization of El Paso, a revitalization project to erect statues of colonizers, missionaries, conquistadors and visionaries that contributed to the cultural and historical development of The Pass of the North. The first monument, also created by sculptor John Houser, features a bronze statue of Fray Garcia de San Francisco, located in El Paso’s downtown.
The Adair Margo Gallery is featuring an exhibit of the work of John Sherrill Houser and Ethan Taliesin Houser on view from April 19 to June 1, 2007. Maquettes of The Equestrian are available for purchase to support future projects of the XII Travelers organization. Please contact the gallery for details.
