Pam Nelson lives in Dallas, Texas where she has completed numerous public projects including transit stations, meditation chapels for hospitals, theatre facades and murals.
Nelson's exhuberant, lively approach to art-making in many contexts has led to her recognition as one of the most versatile artists working in Texas. Her work is rooted in abstraction with an emphasis on color, pattern and texture.
Many of her paintings honor women's handiwork, in particular quilting and applique and she has likewise been influenced by Guatemalan cloth, African fiber arts, Matisse's cut-outs and Indian shishadur or mirror work.
